Smile in The Woodlands
We offer
You can relax during your visit even if you experience one or more of the following:
•High fear of dental care
•Procedures requiring longer appointments
•More complicated dental procedures
•Uncomfortable dental experiences in the past
•Fear of needles and shots
•Trouble getting numb
•Sensitive teeth
IV Sedation
Some patients prefer sedation to be administered intravenously for more extensive procedures. IV sedation has the advantage of including various agents to reduce pain, reduce inflammation and manage consciousness and more during dental procedure.
We can help you choose the method of sedation that is just right for you. The best part is, there is no reason to dread going to the dentist anymore. Sedation dentistry offers so many alternatives, most of our patients say that they actually enjoy coming for their dental visit!

The three most common types of sedation dentistry are:
> 1. Nitrous Oxide
> 2. Oral Conscious Sedation (Pre-Appointment Pill)
> 3. IV Sedation
Nitrous Oxygen
When Nitrous Oxide (laughing gas) is inhaled, it helps your body relax while you remain totally conscious. This is the most popular form of sedation that can be used during almost any procedure.
Oral Conscious Sedation (Pill)
Through this type of sedation you will experience very deep relaxation while still being conscious. The doctor will provide you with a prescription for an oral medication that is easy to swallow, safe and low cost. Most adults will receive Halcion (triazolam) that is taken before you arrive at the office for your scheduled dental procedure. When the medication takes effect, you will be able to speak and respond to requests while being very relaxed. Many patients request oral conscious sedation for lengthier procedures. Oral conscious sedation patients make arrangements for a friend or family member to drive them to and from their appointment.

Tired of Numbness After a
Dental Visit?
Get on with your day
2 TIMES faster!
You know how annoying numbness can be. It affects your speech, your smile, your ability to drink... In fact, you might even catch yourself drooling. After a dental procedure, OraVerse ® reverses the annoying, unwanted and unnecessary effects of lingering numbness twice as fast so you can get over it and get on with your day. OraVerse is the first and only product to rapidly reverse the effects of your local dental anesthetic so you can feel normal sooner. It is clinically proven to accelerate the return of normal sensation and function following routine dental procedures. Studies show that people who were given OraVerse not only feel normal twice as fast, but they can smile, speak and drink sooner... drooling is minimized!
OraVerse is administered by your dentist immediately following your procedure so that you can return to normal sensation and function sooner. And don't worry, OraVerse won't increase the amount of pain from the dental procedure. What OraVerse will do is help you get over that lingering numbness twice as fast, so you can do what you want to do without the limitations of numbness.
